Karbel pieces are crafted from natural fabrics, colored with natural dyes and finished with intricate hand embroidery. Here’s how to care for them.

Dry clean only 

Natural dyes can bleed in water, so we recommend professional dry cleaning to protect the color. Let your cleaner know the garment is hand embroidered and naturally dyed. For small spills, blot gently with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid excessive rubbing.

Steam When Needed

Use a steam iron on a low setting to release wrinkles. For best results, steam or iron the garment inside out and avoid pressing directly onto the embroidery.

Store Thoughtfully

Store your Karbel piece in a cool, dry place away from direct or harsh sunlight, which can fade natural dyes over time. Natural fabrics benefit from air circulation, so avoid sealing the garment in plastic for long periods. Make sure it is clean and dry before putting it away.

A Note on Handwork

Take a little extra care around jewelry, handbags and sharp surfaces that could catch the embroidery. Natural dyes may soften gently with time and wear. That’s part of their character.
